Summer 2026 Season Opportunity: MBCT Facility Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Facility Manager plays a vital role in supporting the success of our outdoor community theatre by ensuring that the facility, technical equipment, and workspaces are safe, organized, and performance-ready. This position works closely with volunteers and production teams to maintain the Barn\u2019s unique performance environment and uphold its long-standing tradition of quality community theatre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

Technical Equipment Maintenance <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot sound, lighting, and related technical equipment used for performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Ensure all technical systems are functional and safe for use throughout the season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Coordinate repairs, replacements, and upgrades in collaboration with theatre leadership. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Maintain an accurate inventory of equipment, tools, and supplies. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

Organization & Facility Upkeep <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Keep all backstage areas, tech booth, storage spaces, and work areas clean, organized, and accessible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Monitor facility conditions and address general maintenance needs in coordination with the Board of Directors and Parks & Recreation staff. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

Volunteer Training & Support <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Assist in training volunteers on sound and lighting equipment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Provide hands-on guidance during rehearsals and performances as requested by production staff. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Reinforce safety procedures and best practices. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

Seasonal Facility Coordination <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Assist with opening the Barn prior to the summer season, including equipment setup, inspections, and readiness checks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Support coordination of workdays or volunteer efforts to prepare the facility for productions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Oversee end-of-season closing procedures, including equipment breakdown, cleaning, storage, and winterization. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Help ensure the facility is preserved and protected during the off-season. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

Collaboration & Communication <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Work closely with directors, stage managers, designers, and board members to support each production\u2019s technical needs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Communicate equipment issues, maintenance updates, and facility concerns promptly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Participate in planning and coordination meetings as needed. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previous experience in technical theatre preferred (sound and lighting systems)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ability to work effectively with community volunteers of all experience levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Basic knowledge of maintenance, tools, and safety practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ability to lift and move equipment and work in an outdoor environment. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Work Environment & Schedule: <\/strong>Seasonal role aligned with the summer production schedule at Maplewood Barn. We need someone who can work evenings and weekends as required, especially when we have rehearsals and shows. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reports To Maplewood Barn Board of Directors and\/or designated Production or Technical Leadership<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
