Molly Dodge (Director of “Laughing Stock”)… was raised in Hollywood, California where, from 1959-1961, she was Minnie Mouse at Disneyland, as well as working as an extra in many movie and TV productions. She continues to actively pursue all aspects of acting and has been involved in theatre for the last 40+ years, both at the professional and community levels. Molly has had the privilege of either acting in, directing, or producing more than 300 productions.
While attending UCLA she earned a degree in Architectural Drafting with a Minor in Theater. After graduation she began a career as an automotive draftsman and designer for GM, where she held that position for 35 years…yet always continuing to pursue her love of acting and directing, on the side. Upon retiring in 2007, Molly and her husband decided to move to Columbia so they could be closer to her daughter who lives in Rocheport. Since arriving in town she has had the privilege of directing 9 stage shows and numerous radio shows for Maplewood Barn, as well as productions for Columbia Entertainment, Curtains-Up Columbia, and Talking Horse. She has not only served on the Maplewood Board of Director’s for seven years, since moving here, but also currently serves on the Production Committee (where she has served as Production Chair in past years), Radio Committee, Play Selection Committee, and Children’s Camp Committee.
Molly wishes to express that theatre will forever be near and dear to her heart and has consistently been one of the major blessings in her life!
