Play Synopsis

“She Kills Monsters” tells the story of Agnes, a young woman coping with the death of her family, who enters into the fantastical world of Dungeons and Dragons, the game that was her sister’s refuge. Along the way, Agnes comes to terms with her grief, finds new friends and, of course, slays many monsters.

Characters:

  • Agnes (appears female, mid 20s): The protagonist, looking for closure.
  • Tilly (appears female, mid teens): Agnes’ deceased sister, who appears as an in-game avatar
  • Chuck (appears male, mid teens to early 20s): Introduces Agnes to the game her sister loved.
  • Miles (appears male, mid 20s): Agnes’ boyfriend. Decent, but a bit dull.
  • Lilith/Lilly (appears female, mid teens): Lilith is the demon queen warrior in-game avatar of Tilly’s friend (and possibly more) Lilly.
  • Kaliope/Kelly (appears female, mid teens): Kaliope is the elf warrior in-game avatar of Tilly’s friend Kelly.
  • Vera, Evil Gabbi, the Beholder (appears female, late teens to mid 20s): Vera is Agnes’ friend and coworker. Same actor also portrays Evil Gabbi, a demonic cheerleader and The Beholder, a loathsome monster
  • Narrator, Evil Tina, Farrah the Faerie (appears female, late teens to mid 20s): Same actor plays the narrator, another demonic cheerleader, and a surprisingly vicious faerie.
  • Steve (appears male, mid teens): A hapless dorky student in real life and an equally inept wizard in the game world.
  • Ronnie/Orcus (appears male, late teens to early 20s): In the game world, a laid back and not particularly frightening demon. In real life, one of Tilly’s friends.
  • Additional monster roles will also be available.
